| 4th December 2006 Doug Byrne Winton 2006. What a great weekend of racing was had by all bar Wayne Gardner who had gearbox problems in qualifying and did not race. Congratulations to Charlie Borg for winning the Doug Byrne trophy Greg Hewson for second & Robert Bell for a well-deserved third. There are a few V8 drivers out there that must be wondering what the hell are these Minis. A special thanks must go to Henry Draper for supplying the gifts to all the competitors. Winton has asked us to come back again next year as they where more than happy with us. Next years date is Dec 8th 9th & we have finally created some interest from the Victorian Mini fraternity so I’m hoping they will enter next year. Colin Honey has taken photo’s of all the Sunday races so I will be putting them on the web site next week thanks Colin. Steve Rooke has managed to locate the Doug Byrne perpetual trophy, which is great news. |
